Assurance Of Forgiveness
For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is His steadfast love toward those who fear Him;
As far as the east is from the west,
So far He removes our transgressions from us.
As a father has compassion for his children,
So the Lord has compassion for those who fear Him.  (Psalm 103:11-13)
Believe the good news: in Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.

And also with you.
Prayer For Illumination
Almighty God, grant that those who worship You this day may present their bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable in Your sight. By the power of the Holy Spirit, inspire us to hear Your word rightly and make us strong to fulfill our ministry this day faithfully in the name of our Savior Jesus.     Amen.

Call To Worship
The Lord is King, let the peoples tremble!
He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake!
Let them praise Your great and awesome name.
Extol the Lord our God, and worship at His holy mountain;
For the Lord our God is holy.  (Psalm 99:1-3, 9)
Prayer Of Confession
God of majesty, You have drawn near to us, but we have turned away from You. You have chosen us to be Your people, but we confess that we have lived as though we belonged to ourselves. Forgive us for going the way of the world, doing the works of sin, and forgetting Your law of love toward You and neighbor. Empower us by Your Spirit to be faithful followers of Jesus, Who taught us by word and deed how to live as Your children to Your honor and glory.
(Silent prayer of personal confession.)
Call To Confession (paraphrased from Psalm 78)
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always accuse, nor will He keep His anger forever.
He does not deal with us according to our sins,
Let us confess our sins with confidence before God’s throne of mercy, praying
Jesus said, “Give therefore the things that are Caesar’s to Caesar, and the things that are God’s to God.”
Created in the image of God, we pledge ourselves to our Father God Who has been revealed in Jesus Christ.

Prayers of the People (Prayer requests are listed at the end of the bulletin.)
Prayer of Dedication
Almighty and everlasting God, in Christ You have revealed Your glory among the nations. May our gifts this day help preserve Your works of mercy, that Your church here and throughout the world may persevere with steadfast faith to confess Jesus Christ as Lord, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.    Amen.
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Affirmation Of Faith - “A Brief Statement of Faith” (11.1, 3, 5-6)
In life and in death we belong to God. Through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, we trust in the one triune God, the Holy One of Israel, whom alone we worship and serve.

We trust in God, whom Jesus called Abba, Father. In sovereign love God created the world good and makes everyone equally in God’s image, male and female, of every race and people, to live as one community. But we rebel against God; we hide from our Creator. Ignoring God’s commandments. We violate the image of God in others and ourselves, accept lies as truth, exploit neighbor and nature, and threaten death to the planet entrusted to our care. We deserve God’s condemnation. Yet God acts with justice and mercy to redeem creation. In everlasting love, the God of Abraham and Sarah chose a covenant people to bless all families of the earth. Hearing their cry, God delivered the children of Israel from the house of bondage. Loving us still, God makes us heirs with Christ of the covenant. Like a mother who will not forsake her nursing child, like a father who runs to welcome the prodigal home, God is faithful still.

With believers in every time and place, we rejoice that nothing in life or in death can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit
