Assurance Of Forgiveness
The Apostle Paul has written: “If God is for us, who is against us? Neither death nor life, nor things present nor things to come, nor anything else in all creation, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Thanks be to God!

Prayer For Illumination
O Sovereign God, who sends your Holy Spirit to reveal your Word to us today, open our hearts to hear Your speaking to us through Holy Scripture, in the name of Jesus.      Amen.

Prayer Of Confession
Merciful God and Father of our lives, cleanse us from all our offenses and deliver us from proud thoughts and vain desires. May we draw near to You, confessing our faults, confiding in Your grace, and finding in You our refuge and strength. We praise You that in the coming of Your Son Jesus Christ, Your promises given by the prophets were fulfilled and the day of our deliverance has dawned. As we look for the triumph of His kingdom, we are filled with holy joy, through the name of Your Son, Jesus the Messiah.
(Silent prayer of personal confession.)

The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Affirmation Of Faith - “The Nicene Creed”
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.   Amen.
