Assurance Of Forgiveness
The Apostle Paul has written: “If God is for you, who is against you? Neither death nor life, nor things present, nor things to come, nor anything else in all creation shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Jesus Christ our Lord.”
In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Thanks be to God!

Prayer For Illumination
O God of light, Who sent the light to shine in the darkness, shine upon us today Your light to understand Your Holy Word so that we may know Your will in the name of our Lord Jesus.        Amen.

Prayer Of Confession
God of salvation, You have not left us alone in times of distress, but have drawn near to comfort us, to bind up our wounds, to bring light into our darkness, and make our way safe. Yet we have turned away from You and looked to other sources for prosperity, wisdom, and wholeness. Rather than keeping our eyes firmly fixed upon You, we have set our sight and fastened our grasp on things of this world. We have claimed to be Your followers but have lost sight of You and wriggled from Your loving grip. In mercy, forgive us. By Your Spirit, draw us again near to You, hold us in the palm of Your hand, and rekindle our hearts to trust in You and to proclaim the good news of how You are our God, how you are merciful to the wayward, how you are the strength of the weak, and how you hear all who call on Your name, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
(Silent prayer of personal confession.)
Call To Confession
Since we are human beings, we are sinners.
The Holy Scriptures reveal the righteous God to us who is also merciful and compassionate.
It is with confidence in this God that we confess our sinfulness through praying…
Live stitch by stitch.
We shall love others by our patient actions.
May righteousness make a home in your life.

Affirmation Of Faith - “The Nicene Creed”
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come.   Amen.
