Words of Greeting
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
And also with you.
Prayer For Illumination
God of light and life, who by the birth of the Holy Child Jesus has given us a great light to dawn upon our darkness, grant us that light today by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to understand the Scriptures so that the likeness of Jesus may be formed in us. Amen.
(Remember the presentation of your tithes and offerings to God are a positive and personal manifestation of worship.
In support of the ministry of the church, please remember to respond
to the love of God in your life by offering yourself and your gift
out of gratitude for the innumerable blessings we have received from God.)

Prayer Of Confession
God of compassion, have mercy on me, Your child who has wandered from the narrow path of love and trust in you. I am wounded by my desire for more, when I have more than enough. I believe I am righteous enough by faithfully worshiping You and satisfy Your call by loving my neighbor. But then I realize that the good I do I truly do for my own glory and not your glory. I fall short of Your righteousness. Have mercy on me, O Shepherd God, for Your sheep has gone astray. Grant me the righteousness of Jesus, the Good Shepherd, Who has been bruised, crucified, and crushed by my sin. Forgive me my sins, as I forgive all who sin against me, in the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus the Messiah.
(Silent prayer of personal confession.)
Call To Confession
The prophet Isaiah said, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the punishment that made us whole, and by his bruises we are healed.”
“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have all turned to our own way, and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 43:5, 6)
With God’s assurance of a “scapegoat,” we humbly come before our Lord’s throne of grace to confess our sins, praying…

The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Affirmation Of Faith - “The Apostles’ Creed”
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
