Assurance Of Pardon (1 Peter 2:24-25)

Jesus Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross,
So that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness, by His wounds you have been healed.
For you were going astray like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls.
We believe the good news of the gospel: through the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus, we are forgiven.
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH - “A Brief Statement of Faith” (11.1 - 11 .2)

In life and in death we belong to God. Through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, we trust in the one triune God, the Holy One of Israel, whom alone we worship and serve. We trust in Jesus Christ, fully human, fully God. Jesus proclaimed the reign of God: preaching good news to the poor and release to the captives, teaching by word and deed and blessing the children, healing the sick and binding up the brokenhearted, eating with outcasts, forgiving sinners, and calling all to repent and believe the gospel. Unjustly condemned for blasphemy and sedition, Jesus was crucified, suffering the depths of human pain and giving his life for the sins of the world. God raised this Jesus from the dead, vindicating his sinless life, breaking the power of sin and evil, delivering us from death to life eternal.

Benediction  (Jude 24-25)

“Now may the God of peace, who brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, make you complete in everything good so that you may do His will, working among us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to Whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.” (Hebrews 13:20-21)
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Prayer For Illumination

O God, who guides us through our trying days, pour out Your Holy Spirit into the hearts of your faithful people so that Your word may be heard through the Scriptures. Grant us the grace of Your Spirit so that we may have the strength to act, through our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Call To Worship  (Psalm 32:6-7, 10b-11)

Therefore, let all who are faithful offer prayer to you; at a time of distress, the rush of mighty waters shall not reach them.
You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with glad cries of deliverance.
Steadfast love surrounds those who trust in the Lord.
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, O righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart.
Prayer Of Confession

Lord of life, we confess that our faith has been small. You promise to raise us up into a new way of life; yet, we live as though that were not possible. We satisfy ourselves with the scraps of this earth and turn away from the riches of heaven You offer us. Forgive our failure to believe Your sure promises. Breathe on us again with Your life-giving Spirit, that we may be filled with such a spirit of life that others may be drawn to the source of our life, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
(Silent prayer of personal confession.)
Call To Confession (Psalm 130:1-4)

The Psalmist sings, “Out of the depths I cry to You, O Lord.
Lord, hear my voice!
Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications!
If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, Lord, who could stand?
But there is forgiveness with you, so that you may be revered.” With hope of forgiveness, we confess our sins together praying…
Jesus wept.
Jesus knows our sorrows and our griefs.
Remember that Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life.
Even at the valley of the shadow of death, we trust in the God and Father of our Lord Jesus.
