Assurance Of Forgiveness (2 Corinthians 5:17-19, 21)
So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away, see, everything has become new!
All of this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation;
That is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting the message of reconciliation to us.
For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin,
So that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.
The good news is that through Jesus Christ, we are forgiven.
Affirmation Of Faith - “The Confession of Belhar

We believe that God has entrusted the church with the message of reconciliation in and through Jesus Christ; that the church is called to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world, that the church is called blessed because it is a peacemaker, that the church is witness both by word and by deed to the new heaven and the new earth in which righteousness dwells; that God’s life-giving Word and Spirit has conquered the powers of sin and death, and therefore also of irreconciliation and hatred, bitterness and enmity, that God’s life-giving Word and Spirit will enable the church to live in a new obedience which can open new possibilities of life for society and the world; that the credibility of this message is seriously affected and its beneficial work obstructed when it is proclaimed in a land which professes to be Christian, but in which the enforced separation of people on a racial basis promotes and perpetuates alienation, hatred and enmity; that any teaching which attempts to legitimate such forced separation by appeal to the gospel, and is not prepared to venture on the road of obedience and reconciliation, but rather, out of prejudice, fear, selfishness and unbelief, denies in advance the reconciling power of the gospel, must be considered ideology and false doctrine. Therefore, we reject any doctrine which, in such a situation sanctions in the name of the gospel or of the will of God the forced separation of people on the grounds of race and color and thereby in advance obstructs and weakens the ministry and experience of reconciliation in Christ.

Call To Worship  (Psalm 90:1-6, 14-16)
You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord,
“My refuge and my fortress; my God, in Whom I trust.”
For He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence;
He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the terror of the night, or the arrow that flies by day,
Or the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, or the destruction that wastes at noonday.
Those who love Me, I will deliver; I will protect those who know My name.
When they call to Me, I will answer them; I will be with them in trouble,
I will rescue them and honor them.
With long life I will satisfy them, and show them My salvation.
Prayer Of Confession
Almighty Protector and Provider, we have sought security in shelters of our own making. Instead of trusting Your Word, we have relied upon our own will to overcome evil within and around us. Our will has not been strong enough; when tempted, we have fallen. Forgive us for turning away from the sustaining Bread You have so generously provided us. Indwell us by Your Spirit, that we would entrust ourselves wholly to the power of Your saving Word, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
(Silent prayer of personal confession.)
Call To Confession (Romans 3:9b-12)
Paul writes to the church at Rome, “… for we have already charged that all, both Jews and Greeks, are under the power of sin,
As it is written: ‘There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who has understanding, there is no one who seeks God.
All have turned aside, together they have become worthless;
There is no one who shows kindness, there is not even one.’”
Since we, too, are under the power of sin, we confess our sins, praying.....

Prayer of Dedication
Eternal God, Creator of the world and Giver of all that is good, we thank You for the earth, our home, and for the gift of life. We praise You for Your love in Jesus Christ, Who came to heal this broken world, Who died rejected on the cross and rose triumphant from the dead. Because He lives, we live to praise You, our God forever. We give our gifts and also ourselves to glorify Your mighty name. Amen.
Benediction  and Postlude - “March from Judas Maccabaeus"
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
