Assurance Of Forgiveness (Luke 15:22-24)
While we are yet at a distance, our Father sees us and has compassion and embraces us.
Our Father calls His servants, “Bring quickly the best robes, and put it on my children; and put rings on their hands, and shoes on their feet;
And bring the fatted calf and kill it; and let us eat and drink and be merry: for these my children were dead, and are alive again; they were lost, and are found!”
The good news of the gospel is that through the death of Jesus Christ we are forgiven.
Affirmation Of Faith - “The Heidelberg Catechism” (4.066 - Question #66)

Q. What are sacraments?
A. They were instituted by God so that by our use of them he might make us understand more clearly the promise of the gospel, and seal that promise. And this is God’s gospel promise: to grant us forgiveness of sins and eternal life by grace because of Christ’s one sacrifice accomplished on the cross.

Call To Worship  (Psalm 105)
O give thanks to the Lord, call on His name, make known His deeds among the peoples.
Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; tell of all His wonderful works.
Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His presence continually.
Remember the wonderful works He has done, His miracles, and the judgments He uttered,
O offspring of His servant Abraham, children of Jacob, His chosen ones.
Prayer Of Confession
O most holy God, we have sinned and fallen short of Thy glory. We have strayed like lost sheep wandering from Thy fold. Taking the abundant life inherited in Thee, we squander Thy grace in ungrateful living. Show us who we truly are. Open our eyes and hearts to becoming the person Thou has called us to be. Forgive us our debts, our gracious Father, and restore us as Thy children, through Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
(Silent prayer of personal confession.)
Call To Confession (Romans 6:6, 7)
The Apostle Paul wrote, “We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be destroyed, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin.
For whoever has died is freed from sin.”
Freed from sin’s reign, let us confess our sins together.
Let us pray:
Charge
We have been baptized with Jesus in His death.
