Affirmation Of Faith- “THE THEOLOGICAL DECLARATION OF BARMEN (8.16-8.18)”
“Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body [is] joined and knit together.” (Eph. 4:15, 16.) The Christian Church is the congregation of the brethren in which Jesus Christ acts presently as the Lord in Word and Sacrament through the Holy Spirit. As the Church of pardoned sinners, it has to testify in the midst of a sinful world, with its faith as with its obedience, with its message as with its order, that it is solely his property, and that it lives and wants to live solely from his comfort and from his direction in the expectation of his appearance. We reject the false doctrine, as though the church were permitted to abandon the form of its message and order to its own pleasure or to changes in prevailing ideological and political convictions.

Words of Greeting
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
And also with you.
Prayer For Illumination
Almighty God, by the power of Your Word, the universe was created. By Your breath, humanity was given life. By the inspiration of You, O Holy Spirit, we understand Your word and will. Grant us understanding today in the reading of Your Holy Scripture, through our Lord Jesus. Amen.
(Remember the presentation of your tithes and offerings to God are a positive and personal manifestation of worship.
In support of the ministry of the church, please remember to respond
to the love of God in your life by offering yourself and your gift
out of gratitude for the innumerable blessings we have received from God.)

Call To Worship(Psalms 134; 135:3)
Come, bless the Lord, all you servants of the Lord, who stand by night in the house of the Lord!
Lift up your hands to the holy place and bless the Lord.
May the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth, bless you from Zion.
Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; sing to His name, for He is gracious.
Prayer Of Confession
Lord God, Your Son Jesus Christ is the true vine, and we are the branches. But we confess that we have become separated from You by willfulness and through seeking our own satisfaction; by forgetfulness of the true reason for gathering in this building; by aimlessness in being carried along by life’s thoughtless routines; by self-centeredness in providing for our needs and problems and not noticing the pains and problems of others; by not seeing what is true, wonderful, and loving in the world and paying attention to lies, pessimism, and hating the world. Forgive us, O God, and heal us so that we may declare Your glory and Your love through our words and actions, in the name and to the glory of Jesus Christ.
(Silent prayer of personal confession.)
Call To Confession
For the love of Christ urges us on, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore, all have died.
And he died for all, so that those who live might live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died and was raised for them. (2 Corinthians 5:14-15)
Knowing the love of Christ and living for Him, we humbly confess our sins, praying.....
Keep faith in Jesus who has conquered death and gives us life.
Sovereign Lord, break our hearts of stone and give us hearts for love alone so that we may fully give ourselves and our gifts to glorify Your name and enjoy You forever, through our Lord Jesus, the Messiah.Amen.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Preparation For Worship (Reading before service for quiet meditation)
Pastor and Professor Dr. Eugene Peterson wrote in A Long Obedience in the Same Direction: Discipleship in an Instant Society about the phrase “fears the Lord” from Psalm 128, one of the Songs of Ascents: “To guard against such blasphemous chumminess with the Almighty, the Bible talks of the fear of the LORD – not to scare us but to bring us to awesome attention before the overwhelming grandeur of God, to shut up our whining and chattering and stop our running and fidgeting so that we can really see him as he is and listen to him as he speaks his merciful, life-changing words of forgiveness.” (116) .
Song Of Assurance
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be.
World without end. Amen, Amen.
Anthem: “Put Forth, O God, Thy Spirit's Might"
Composed by Gilbert M. Martin
Put forth, O God, thy Spirit's might and bid thy Church increase,
In breadth and length, in depth and height, her unity, and peace.
Let what apostles learned of thee be ours from age to age;
Their steadfast faith our unity, their peace our heritage.
Let works of darkness disappear before thy conq'ring light;
Let hatred and tormenting fear pass with the passing night.
O Judge divine of human strife, o vanquisher of pain!
To know thee is eternal life, to serve thee is to reign.
