Assurance Of Forgiveness
“There’s a wideness in God’s mercy, like the wideness of the sea…and the heart of the Eternal is most wonderfully kind.” Rejoice and be glad: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven. Thanks be to God!
Thanks be to God!
Affirmation Of Faith
From "A Brief Statement of Faith, PCUSA"
In a broken and hurting world, the Spirit gives us courage to pray without ceasing, to witness among all peoples to Christ as Lord and Savior, to unmask idolatries in Church and culture, to hear the voices of peoples long silenced, and to work with others for justice, freedom, and peace. In gratitude to God, empowered by the Spirit, we strive to serve Christ in our daily tasks and to live holy and joyful lives, even as we watch for God’s new heaven and new earth, praying “Come, Lord Jesus!”

Call to Worship
O Lord, open my lips,
And my mouth shall proclaim your praise.
God’s unfailing love and mercy never cease,
Fresh as the morning and sure as the sunrise.
Let us worship God!
Prayer Of Confession
Merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart and mind and strength. We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. In your mercy, forgive what we have been, help us amend what we are, and direct what we shall be, that we may delight I your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name.

(Silent prayer of personal confession.)
Call To Confession
The proof of God’s amazing love is this: While we were sinners, Christ died for us. Because we have faith in him, we dare to approach God with confidence.
Let us pray…

Benediction
20th Sunday after Pentecost - October 10, 2021
The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Preparation For Worship (Reading before service for quiet meditation)
“I praise you, O God-in the sanctuary and under the stars; for your greatness and for your goodness; with loud hymns and quiet prayers; with helping hands and dancing feet; with all my breath and with all creation; I praise you, O God. Amen.”
Song Of Assurance

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be.
World without end. Amen, Amen.
Special Music
"This Is Amazing Grace"
Worship Band
Who breaks the power of sin and darkness?
Whose love is mighty and so much stronger?
The King of Glory, the King above all kings.
Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder?
Who leaves us breathless in awe and wonder?
The King of Glory, the King above all kings.

This is amazing grace. This is unfailing love.
That you would take my place. That you would bear my cross.
You would lay down your life, that I would be set free.
Jesus, I sing for all that you’ve done for me.

Who brings our chaos back into order?
Who makes the orphan a son or daughter?
The King of Glory, the King of Glory.
Who rules the nations with truth and justice?
Shines like the sun in all of its brilliance?
The King of Glory. The King above all kings.

This is amazing grace. This is unfailing love.
That you would take my place. That you would bear my cross.
You would lay down your life, that I would be set free.
Jesus, I sing for all that you’ve done for me.

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain. Worthy is the King who conquered the grave.
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain. Worthy is the King who conquered the grave.
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain. Worthy is the King who conquered the grave.
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain. He is worthy, worthy.

This is amazing grace. This is unfailing love.
That you would take my place. That you would bear my cross.
You would lay down your life, that I would be set free.
Jesus, I sing for all that you’ve done for me.
Amazing Grace how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now I’m found.
Was blind but now I see. This is amazing grace. This is amazing grace.

“Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee”
Performed by the Pineda Presbyterian Worship Band
Composed by Franz Joseph Haydn / Arranged by Hal H. Hopson
Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee, God of glory, Lord of love;
Hearts unfold like flowers before Thee, opening to the sun above.
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; drive the gloom of doubt away;
Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day.
